'Reading a book is like re-writing it for yourself. You bring to a novel, anything you read, all your experience of the world. You bring your history and you read it in your own terms.'- Angela Carter

A-Z Harry Potter

A Saturday post I have been doing to spread the Harry Potter love and to take us all on a trip down memory lane :).

Q is for Quick-Quotes Quill
Probably one of the most despised items in the entirety of the Harry Potter series. The Quick-Quotes Quill is the quill used by Rita Skeeter in order to publish incredibly sensationalist and well, absolutele bullshit newspaper article about a variety of characters. In many scenes of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, readers see the embellished articles written by this woman, from bashing Hermione, to making Harry out to be mentally unstable, and even abusing and outing Hagrid's ancestry. Yep, this Quill does not have a good name.

‘From the moment the article appeared, Harry had to endure people... quoting it at him as he passed them, and making sneering comment.

“Want a hanky, Potter, in case you start crying in Transfiguration?”

“Since when have you been one of the top students in the school, Potter. Or is this a school you and Longbottom have set up together?”’

  1. This thing was the worst. It's be useful to take notes in glass but not if it made them into lies! That wouldn't work too well.

  2. I wonder if the stupid thing's connection to Rita Skeeter affected the magic in any way? Like did it write more outlandishly because it's owner wanted sensationalism...would it have been alright with an honest person and actually quoted the truth?! Anyways, yeah I hated this thing but not as much as Skeeter herself. Ugh!
